Standard Consulation

Weekday (8am-5.50pm) / Saturday (8am-12.50pm)
Fee – $68.00 | Rebate – $37.05 | Out of pocket $30.95

Saturday (before 8am and after 12.50pm) / Sunday
Fee – $78.00 | Rebate – $49.00 | Out of pocket $29.00

Private Fees apply at all other times and all procedures incur an out-of-pocket cost.


Long Consultation

Weekday (8am-5.45pm) / Saturday (8am-1pm)
Fee – $105.00 | Rebate – $71.70 | Out of pocket $33.30

Saturday (before 8am and after 1pm) / Sunday
Fee – $115.00 | Rebate – $83.95 | Out of pocket $31.05

Private Fees apply at all other times and all procedures incur an out-of-pocket cost.

Payment Information.
All accounts must be settled immediately.

Workcover/TAC: The practice will charge the recommended fees, and you can use your invoice to reclaim the funds from the relevant authority.

Procedures
Other charges may apply e.g. :all procedures are charged privately. If you have had a procedure elsewhere, and choose to have follow up at Laurimar Medical, aftercare charges may apply. Please ask reception for more details.

Special Home Visits
During weekdays we do home visits for REGISTERED patients in the local area if absolutely necessary. These situations should not be confused with emergency situations in which you may need to call an ambulance to attend a hospital. Where possible we ask that you ring before 10.00 a.m. to arrange home visits. Sometimes demand for this service will exceed our ability to respond and you may be asked whether you would like a locum visit arranged.

A private fee is charged for all visits, please telephone to ascertain our current fee.

Travel Health
Travel health consultations when travel is intended for business or work purposes, incur private fees, even for pensioners and children. Please inform the reception before or at the time of apppointment whether your consultation is for purposes of travel health.

Documents and Forms
Completing of documents and forms may incur extra charges depending on the service provided.

To Improve Your Experience of Our Services:
– Please attend promptly for your appointment.
– A standard consultation is 10 minutes.
– Consultations are by appointment.
– Book a longer appointment when necessary (see below)
– Try to see the same doctor for continuity.
– Full payment is expected at the time of the visit.

Longer Appointments:
Some consultations incur a higher fee (see fees section) and require a longer consultation- e.g.

– Multiple problems to cover
– Documentation for Insurance / VICROADS medicals.
– Pre-employment medicals.
– Female health checks (including Pap. Tests).
– Men’s health checks.
– Surgical procedures.
– Travel health

Practice Information

Telephone calls to your doctor.

If you phone the Clinic requesting to speak to your doctor, you will be asked to leave a number on which you can be contacted. Most doctors aim to return phone calls within 24 hours. If the matter is urgent, either your doctor, another doctor or the practice nurse may be able to take your call immediately.

Should you feel seriously unwell, be suffering chest pain, severe shortness of breath or suspect that you or your family member has had a stroke or heart attack, you should call an ambulance on 000 immediately. Minutes could save your life.

In many instances, the doctor or nurse will be unable to provide advice over the telephone. Laurimar Medical is very conscious of the risk of providing incorrect advice by telephone. If unwell, patients should attend the clinic in person.

Hours.

Mon-Fri – 8:00am to 7:00pm

Sat-Sun – 8:00am to 2:00pm

After hours.

We has contracted Doctor/Doctor to provide our out of hours care for our registered patients. You can contact Doctor/Doctor by telephone when we are closed on (03) 8341 1714.

Results.

Please make an appointment for 1 week after you have any tests or investigations done. In the interests of best practice, results of investigations will not be given to you over the telephone by nursing or reception staff. It is your responsibility to arrange this follow up appointment.

Drugs of dependence and sleeping pills.

Laurimar Medical is committed to minimising the use of drugs of dependence eg: benzodiazepines (Valium, Normison, Serepax, Murelax, Mogadon, Xanax etc).

This clinic is not in the habit of prescribing significant quantities of these, so please do not expect them to be prescribed. We do not prescribe Duromine.

Repeat referrals.

Consultations are required for repeat referrals.

Prescriptions.

An appointment will be made to see a doctor for repeat medication.

Feedback and complaints.

We are keen to receive feedback about any of our services in order to learn and improvise. If there are matters you wish to raise with the practice, you may inform or write to the Practice Manager. All complaints verbal or written will be dealt with promptly and without prejudice using a set protocol.

Parking.

Ample parking is available. There is easy wheelchair access and no steps or stairs. Wheelchairs are available at reception.

Privacy.

Your privacy is an absolute priority. We take great care of private information about you that is held in our records, and we comply with both the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic) and the Privacy Act 1998. For our full Privacy Policy please click here.

Reminder System.

To improve continuity of care, we offer a reminder service. If, for some reason you do not wish to use this service, please notify us. While we make every effort to send reminder letters, it is your responsibility to return for further assessment or check-ups if your doctor has indicated this is necessary.

Waiting times.

We respect the importance of our patients’ time and endeavour to see our patients at their booked times. Unfortunately due to a range of reasons this is not always possible.

To help us keep to time, it is very important that you attend promptly for your appointment.

Your responsibility.

Our doctors work with you to improve your health. As part of this, it is your responsibility to ensure that you arrange to follow up with the doctor for test results and review of your problem(s) as advised at the time of consultation.

When you register with the practice, you accept and agree to take this responsibility.

Appointments.

It always helps if you have completed our registration form before you come in for your first appointment. The quickest and most convenient way to register is by selecting ‘Appointments’ from the main menu of this website and filling in the online registration form. Otherwise, you can download a registration form to fill in and email, or bring to your appointment.

If you do not complete the registration form prior to your appointment, the receptionists will supply you one to fill in. Please attend 20 mins before if this is the first time you would be visiting us.
